Similar to being on the farm, The Birdhouse requires a daily routine to ensure everything runs smoothly. This includes various tasks that need to be done every day.

In this letter, we will focus on basic routines that we need to perform every day to contribute to creating a welcoming and organized kitchen for our family to enjoy.

Unloading and Loading the Dishwasher 🧺🔃

One of the essential tasks is loading the dishwasher at night so that it is ready for unloading in the morning. As simple as this may sound, it involves putting away the clean dishes from the previous night so they are ready for easy access and use throughout the day. Also, it plays a critical role in keeping the kitchen clean because it gives us a place to put dirty dishes we use during the day so that the kitchen sink is not full of dirty dishes. These steps set the stage for a tidy and efficient kitchen in the morning and throughout the entire day.

Taking Out the Trash 🗑️🚮

Part of maintaining a clean kitchen involves taking out the trash not only from the kitchen but also from the rest of the house. This ensures that all waste is properly disposed of and prevents any unpleasant odors from lingering. It contributes to maintaining a fresh and hygienic environment. With a household of six people, including four kids, it is natural to accumulate a significant amount of trash. The quantity of waste generated can depend on various factors such as the lifestyle, dietary habits, and consumption patterns of your family members.

Everyday items like food packaging, empty containers, and disposable items contribute to the overall trash volume. The presence of children often adds to this, as they tend to generate waste through school lunches, snack wrappers, and other child-related products. Additionally, activities like arts and crafts, parties, and recreational hobbies may produce additional waste materials such as paper, plastic, or other discarded items.

It is essential to manage this increased volume of waste effectively. By implementing the tips mentioned earlier, such as separating and categorizing waste, educating your children about recycling, and establishing a regular trash disposal schedule, you can stay on top of the accumulated trash.

Furthermore, involving your kids in waste reduction practices, such as reusing and recycling, can instill eco-conscious habits from a young age. By teaching them about the importance of minimizing waste and making environmentally friendly choices, you can reduce the overall trash generated by your household.

Remember, even though managing a larger volume of trash may require more effort, it also presents an opportunity to make a positive impact on the environment. By adopting sustainable practices and instilling these values in your children, you can contribute to a cleaner and healthier future for everyone.

Wiping Down Counters 🧽✨

After unloading the dishwasher and taking out the trash, it's important to wipe down the kitchen counters. This step removes any dirt, crumbs, or spills that may have occurred during meal preparation or overnight. Wiping down the counters not only keeps the kitchen clean but also creates a pleasant and inviting atmosphere for the family.

Wiping down the kitchen counters is a crucial step in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. Here are some reasons why this task is important:

Hygiene: Countertops are frequently used surfaces where food is prepared, making them prone to spills, crumbs, and bacteria. Wiping down the counters helps eliminate these contaminants, reducing the risk of cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses

Pest prevention: Crumbs and spills left on countertops can attract pests such as ants or cockroaches. Regularly wiping down the counters helps eliminate food sources that may attract unwanted insects or rodents into your kitchen.

Durability: Certain countertop materials, like granite or quartz, require proper care to maintain their longevity and appearance. Regularly wiping down the counters helps prevent stains, scratches, and damage caused by acidic or abrasive substances.

When wiping down your kitchen counters, here are some tips to keep in mind:

Gather the right supplies: Use a non-abrasive cleaning solution appropriate for your countertop material. Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage or discolor the surface. Microfiber cloths or disposable cleaning wipes are ideal for effective cleaning.

Clear the surface: Before wiping down the counters, remove any appliances, utensils, or decorative items that may hinder thorough cleaning. Clearing the surface ensures that all areas are properly cleaned and no spots are missed.

Making Coffee ☕️❤️

One of the highlights of my morning routine is making coffee. This holds special significance to me and my wife as we both consider it as a gesture of love. We call it “hug in a mug”. The importance of having a fresh pot of coffee ready when Cat comes downstairs cannot be understated.

What a warm and comfortable way to start the day, It is truly akin to a hug in the morning. This practice ensures that my wife has a fresh cup of coffee before she starts her day. This helps me demonstrates thoughtfulness and care with ACTION!

Making Lunches 🥪🥕

In addition to the tasks mentioned above, making lunches is an integral part of the morning routine in the Birdhouse with 2 school aged kids. As a provider and caretaker, ensuring that everyone in the family has a nutritious and satisfying lunch is an important responsibility. I ensure the twins eat well throughout the day and I make sure the kids have what they need for a healthy satiating lunch. This generally involves preparing sandwiches, cutting fruits and vegetables, cleaning and filling water bottles and packing snacks.

I assemble balanced meals for each family member before we get our day started. By taking the time to prepare lunches in the morning, I ensure that my loved ones are well-nourished throughout the day.

Conclusion

The morning routine at the Birdhouse is a carefully executed sequence of tasks that contributes to a clean, organized, and welcoming kitchen environment. By prioritizing these actions, I not only ensure a smooth start to the day but also express the love and care I have for my family members.

🌅 Start your day on your farm with a well-structured morning routine. Unleash the power of organization and care, creating a harmonious atmosphere for your loved ones. Embrace the joy of farm life, one task at a time! 🚜🌿🏡
